Once you have entered your tradition/philosophy/religion and written a spiritual biography, you choose Creeds for the section of your profile called "My Way". Once you are finished selecting creeds, you can drag and drop the statements into different categories.

Drag and drop creeds into different categories and in whatever order suits you.  It is possible to add more categories and also to get rid of the categories listed. Click “My Account” --> Edit --> (scroll down) to Profile Facets; here you have the option to add listed facets, remove previously added facets, or create new ones.

Browse the list of creeds and adopt creed statements to your profile by marking the adopt box on the left side of the creed footer, as shown below.

You can sort the creeds in the creed directory according to popularity (creed adopted by highest number of members appear first), by name (alphabetically) and by publication date, by clicking the relevant sorting tab. You can filter the list to view only creeds marked with tradition, philosophy or religion tag by clicking on the relevant symbol on the filter box on the left. Similarly, to filter creeds per category, click on the category symbols. To view all symbols scroll down with the mouse wheel.

Sort and filter functions works the same in the members and discussions directories.

A creed, as used within Creedia, is a value or a principle of belief represented by a short statement, an optional set of origin statements and a short exposition.
The length of the statement is limited to 120 characters. The expansion provides context and references. The exposition should not attempt to explain the meaning of the principle. That is the role of interpretations.
Before adding a creed statement, please check that a similar creed statement is not already available. Creed statements common to multiple religions can be tagged with multiple religion symbols and appropriate origin statements can be added.
Creed statements are co-edited by the community. Once a creed statement is created, it can no longer be edited or deleted without the administrator intervention. Creeds can be edited and a new revision is made per each edit. The revisions are moderated by the administrators.
Members may adopt creed statements to their profile. Members have full control of which religion symbols and which origin statement is shown on their profile.

Yes, simply edit the creed statement and add the relevant religion symbols. Each member can select which religion symbols appear on their profile.

You can fully control which religion symbols are shown on your profile. First, adopt the creed as you would any other. By default, when you adopt a creed statement, only the creed's religion symbols that were also selected as religion symbols of the profile will be shown. If there are no religion symbols in common to the creed and the profile, all the creed's religion symbols will be shown. For example, if you are Christian, and you adopt a creed statement with Christian, Jewish and Muslim Symbols, only the Christian Cross will show on your profile. If you adopt a Buddhist creed statement, by default, the Buddhist symbol will show.

You can select which religion symbols are shown in your profile per creed statement by editing the creed profile settings. Once in your profile, hover with your mouse over the symbols on the right hand side of the creed statement. A small footer should appear below the creed statement and several additional controls should be visible. Click each of the religion symbols to show/hide it. To exit the edit creed settings mode, click on the close button on the right of the creed footer.

Creed Profile Settings

You can select which origin statement, if any, are shown in your profile per creed statement by editing the creed profile settings. Once in your profile, hover with your mouse over the symbols on the right hand side of the creed statement. A small footer should appear below the creed statement and the origin statement selector should become visible. Select the origin statement you prefer on 'none' to hide the statements. To exit the edit creed settings mode, click on the close button on the right of the creed footer.

Once a creed is saved, any editing apart from adding belief set and religion symbols requires administrator approval. You can view past and pending creed revisions in the creed page.

Current languages supported are Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), English, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Japanese and Sanskrit. Virtual keyboards are available for all languages apart from Sanskrit. Contact the administrator if other languages needs to be added.

Go to the 'members' page and select 'By Way' tab sorting. The members that have creed statements in their profile in common with you will be listed first. If two members have the same number of common creeds, the recently joined member will appear first. You can further filter the list by selecting the appropriate religion and country symbols from the selectors on the left. You need to be logged in for the 'By Way' sorting to work.

There are three profile sharing options available. Sharing your profile with everyone (default), sharing your profile with Creedia members, and private profile. When the profile is kept private, no one but you will be able to see the creed statements you adopt, and you will not appear in 'my way members' blocks.

An opinion, as expressed within the Creedia framework, is a personal discussion on beliefs, values, principles, religious experience, moral life, or anything related. An opinion can be stream-of-consciousness, analytical, poetic, conversational, or expressed in whatever form the user feels most comfortable with.
The opinion entry can include a non-text item such as photo, picture, video and audio inserts.

Interpretations are the more subjective aspect of the creed page. Interpretations can be creative, academic, poetic, traditional, or radical, but they must be respectful of other interpretations and not depreciate those that are disagreed with. Interpretations are not an opportunity to voice the rejection--or embrace--of a given creed statement, but rather is the platform to expand and explain one’s understanding of its essential meaning. Users may adopt your interpretation of the creed by indicating it on the interpretation form. The interpretation can include a non-text item such as photo, picture, video and audio inserts.

The Creedia featured indication is set on selected Opinions, Interpretations, Images, Creed statements and Members from time to time. The featured indication is set by Creedia administrators to draw the attention of members to the featured post. It is not an endorsement of the post by Creedia in any way. The featured indication is set for a limited period of time.

The best help is to join as a member, create your faith profile and be an active member of the community. Creedia will provide a true picture of the world's creed as people see it only if a significant and diverse number of individuals participate in the Creedia experience. Any help in getting the word around and enlisting new members is appreciated. If you have advice on these matters let us know.
If you would like to be part of the Creedia team and help in moderation, developing new features, testing new versions, improving the site usability or graphical design, helping in promoting the service, donating or investing, please contact us through the contact form.

Yes, there is. One may argue that the true significance of faith and religion is through practice, not through a doctorine of principles. Creedia's approach is simplistic. However it is our hope that through the narrow window that the Creedia framework provides we can nevertheless get an interesting glimpse of our own world of faith.
Members are encouraged to discuss this issue with the community by publishing their opinions.

Yes, Creedia is for all people interested in exploring and sharing their set of principle beliefs and values. To accommodate with people that do not associate themselves with any religion the independent attribute within the religion selection box is added. Independent is not affiliated with an established religion. Both theists as well as atheists or agnostic may wish to tag themselves as independent, or may wish to associate themselves as independent in addition to an established religion. Creed statements which are not associated with an established religion may be marked as independent statements.
The symbol chosen to represent Independent is the capital letter 'I' which symbols both Independence as well as the individual.

Creedia adopts Wikipedia's definition of Religion: "A religion is an organized approach to human spirituality which usually encompasses a set of narratives, symbols, beliefs and practices, often with a supernatural or transcendent quality, that give meaning to the practitioner's experiences of life through reference to a higher power or truth." The initial list of religions include the more common religions. If your religion is not listed please let us know through the contact form.
Selecting your religion attributes is an important part of the creation of your faith profile. Creed statements are associated with either your 'my creed' or 'my bridge' profiles. Change of the religion settings does not automatically change the already selected creed statements from 'my bridge' to 'my creed' profiles or vice versa. Therefore if your religion can not be chosen we recommend that you postpone creating your faith profile until your religion is added. We will attempt to address your request as soon as possible.

You can simply add your movement by selecting the 'add movement' option available in the movement selection box. The new movement will be added to the list of available movements. Movement terms not used by members will eventually be removed by the administrators.
